80s TV instances of LMs

From a mix of memory and recent research, there are some TV segments involving living mannequins that have yet to surface in clip trading circles. Posting as much data here to help better TV collectors than I to find them. "GOOD MORNING AMERICA" Wednesday, January 31, 1979 Reporter Mike Ce...

Ellis in Freedomland (1952)

While looking for some completely different stock footage, I stumbled across this industrial feature short. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9526044/reference/ It's a most bizarre promotional film for Westinghouse to show off all their appliances. The crux of the film involves a top salesman having a dr...

More recent TPIR mannequin moment

Once Drew Carey had taken over hosting "THE PRICE IS RIGHT" I had concluded mannequin posing was going to be dropped along with models wearing pantyhose, both out of modernization and of putting some distance between this incarnation and the Barker era. So I was happily surprised that some...

Re: Old Reading Rainbow episode

Lynn Kristie did not run the "Isn't she lovely" model school in California. Joyce Ricketts is the trainer there. but the episode you spoke about was cute. It was a shame they could not have extended that out further as some of them were very talented. Indeed. Something both Lynn and Joyce...

Re: Old Reading Rainbow episode

The episode is also on Amazon, where I purchased it, and with a cleaner look, I'm pretty sure at least two of the LM performers were also in the "REAL PEOPLE" profile. There is a credit at the end thanking Lynn Kristie's Modelkins. Wonder if they appeared on other TV programs?

FOUND IT! On YouTube, there is an official PBS upload that they want you to buy: https://youtu.be/z7ojLkUAqKE But, if you're willing to put up with inferior PQ (and admittedly, it is pretty bad - it's a couple generations down, where you can suss out there are other LMs in the display windows but ca...

STAY HUNGRY (1976)

Caught up to Bob Rafelson's dark comedy STAY HUNGRY, which most know as being the first serious acting role for Arnold Schwarzeneggar (who is really great in it, by the way). The main character however is Jeff Bridges, playing a ne'er-do-well trust fund kid who is charged with buying out a local gym...

"American Horror Stories" Season 2 - opening ep "Dollhouse"

Shocked that no one else has brought this up yet, but the new season of the AHS anthology spinoff starts Thursday night on Hulu, and the opening episode is called "Dollhouse," and they've made iconography from it front and center in their advertising. There's a teaser video in this article...

Re: THE LADY IN RED w/ Pamela Sue Martin

Ironically enough, The woman who played the mannequin never got any film credits unless she was in the "stunt people" section. lol I just listened to the BluRay commentary track with director Lewis Teague, and he mentions this moment! He says it was one of the make-up artists on the shoot...

THE LADY IN RED w/ Pamela Sue Martin

I was watching an old New World Pictures gangster drama from 1979, THE LADY IN RED, a fictionalized account of the infamous woman who supposedly was John Dillinger's paramour and signaled the Feds who wound up killing him outside the Biograph theatre in the 30s. There's a scene 2/3 into the movie wh...

AIR DOLL finally coming to U.S.

The 2009 Hirokazo Kore-eda drama fantasy AIR DOLL with Doona Bae, is finally getting a release in America. Clips from the film have been circulating around here for years, but now it will be readily accessible. Hirokazo has made terrific films like AFTER LIFE and SHOPLIFTERS, so I'm excited to see i...

Re: Twitter Mannequin Challenge

Unfortunately, the last time I did a search, most of the challengers were wearing masks. That's when I threw in the towel. I've refocused my efforts to the Living Mannequin group over on Facebook. Is that a public or a private group? Many of us are not "out", I definitely am not, so...

Re: Squid Game

I don't have the footage handy, but the musical cue associated with "SQUID GAME" that has that eerie "HEE HEE HEE" cadence is extremely reminiscent of an episode of the B&W Japanese fantasy TV show AKUMA-KUN that was a favorite here, where an alien being possesses and animate...

Artists and Models Abroad (1938)

Got tipped off about an old Paramount "musical revue" comedy called ARTISTS AND MODELS ABROAD with the legendary Jack Benny, and to my surprise, there's something in it for us. Midway through the film, a performing troupe in Paris skips out on an expensive hotel bill, and as they're chased...

Re: State Farm….Chris Paul & female turned into cardboard cutouts

This reminds me of a commercial from the '70s I've been desperate to find since I was a child. It was for carpeting, I don't remember the manufacturer unfortunately. But it had a woman walking around and standing among life-sized human-shaped standees/silhouettes of carpets. At the very end, she str...

All the way from 1978! With a near-baby Robb Weller before he decamped to 'ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT'. (She's only in the opening segment of the show, they don't bring her back later on)

Re: model on camcontacts you should meet and check out..

I had a session with LadyModel just a couple weeks ago, may just be a timing issue. Remember these performers have lives that can intrude on cam work. I also recently caught up with Carolina Weber on LiveJasmin, fka Alsu4You on CamContacts; she said it's been months since anyone came requesting free...

Like, the late Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy are singing, "The Boo is Back in Town" in my head right now.
