Super C

Post by Hepzibah »

Hi,

I learned about the Super C video program from people here (I want to say Lord Hypno, but I'm not sure). I got it, it looks good, but I could use some help, particularly converting files (mainly mpg and wmv) to avi without changing the video size or losing any quality. I looked over the Super C site and didn't really see much in the way of help files. If anyone could give me some advice or point me at a good web page I'd be very grateful.

Thanks for listening,

Hep

well i can try and explain what i know. from what i have pieced together encoding codec and bitrate kbps are your most important. first off add your file to super c and then double click it that will give you a lot of info about it. make note of bit rate, size, aspect ratio, and frame Rate. you always what it set the same size aspect ratio and frame rate or you could have problems. the lower the bit rate the worst it will look but you cant get any better if you go above the source if your source is 1000 kbps encoding at 2000 wont make it better but it will make it bigger. i have found useing the H.264/avc codec gives you really high quality and the best quality/file size. as for the options make sure you set the h.264 options (i use main 3.1)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264 here is a good wiki on h.264

as for the other options like (HI quality) find a small video file and play i can't tell you how many time i re-encoded video's to find the settings i liked

as for audio i try and go mp3 and the lowest bit rate i can get away with

i hope i was helpful

Yeah, I've used Super to convert stuff too. Here's a couple guides that ought to help:
