Request For Tech Help

Post by Hepzibah »

Hi guys, I'm having a problem I can't figure out and I'm hoping someone here knows the answer. I've bee trying to create an alias for Yahoo mail. I get as far as the captcha code and I can't get past it. I'm entering the codes correctly...I know this because one in a while it tells me that the text did not match. Every other time it just reloads the page with a new code. I've tried everything I can think of including contacting Yahoo support who, after almost 2 days, suggested I try what I already told them I had tried.

Original Message Follows:
-------------------------

1. Have you tried clearing your browser????"s cookies and cache?
---------------------------------------------------------------
: Yes

2. Describe the problem and any steps taken to fix it:
-------------------------------------------------------
I'm trying to create an alias for my email account. I get to
the CAPTCHA code and every time I enter it, it presents me with another
CAPTCHA code. This happens even when I'm absolutely sure that
I've read the distorted image correctly. It also happens when I use
the audio code. I've tried clearing the cookies & cache and even the
Flash info. I've tried 3 different browsers. I've tried using
all caps, no caps and even played with the Insert key to see if that was
messing something up. I've also tried it after rebooting.

3. Computer system information:
--------------------------------
Operating System (WinXP, Mac, Linux, etc): WinXP Pro

Browser: Type and version (FireFox 3.6, IE 8, etc): Direfox 6.0.2

Anti-Virus Software: Type and version (Norton 360 Version 4.0,
etc): Norton Security Suite v 5.0.1.29

Internet Service Provider (Comcast, Verizon, etc): Comcast

Firewall: The firewall that came with my Anti-Virus software

Does anyone have any ideas?

There's your problem. Try using Firefox instead of Direfox.

Seriously, are you missing any required fields?

I had this problem recently with gmail and that was the answer.

Make sure you are not missing any required fields and each time it asks for the captcha, you also need to retype your password and retype your password again.

Hope this helps.

Heh. Cute.

Thanks for responding, but no, it's nothing like that. I know my way around compys. I figured it out tho when I asked a friend to log on as me and make the alias and he had the same problem. I tried making an alias on a different account and it worked fine, so...somehow my account is corrupt. I'm gonna delete it and start over.

Thanks anyways!
