I'm not the biggest fan of the robo fetish but I am definitely very wary of robots that will be able to walk and talk with AI that can easily out-think us. I had nightmares about robots even before the Terminator movies were out.

There's actually a political angle to these articles. If you are familiar with PuA/game sites, feminists are running scared of these sex robots.
If you think about, it basically short circuits the female base of power. Hence the opening salvos coming now from the left side of the aisle, which will soon be joined by voices on the religious right. Politics makes strange bedfellows, as they say.

Actually, from a male-female relationship POV, it could be seen a welcome development. Men (or women) just looking for the sex partner have that in the robot, while people looking for a real relationship are more likely to find that in the general dating pool
