a humble suggestion to mods and admin

Hey guys

Lately I've noticed a lot of producers posting in various sub-forums (general discussion, movies, offsite news, online vids, commercials, etc) and it seems to be a pretty haphazard way for them to advertise new content. Is it possible to add another forum solely for the purpose of advertisement of new releases? Perhaps a "Products & Services" board or maybe just renaming/restructuring existing categories to make it easier to know where to post? That way all producers will be able to put their announcements in one location, saving other categories for specific material others have found.

Just a thought. I know it would help my OCD!

Thanks for all you do to keep this board running smooth.

That's actually a pretty nifty idea, I'll just +1 it if that helps any. :p

Also +10000000000 to OCD.

+1 for OCDness (if only you saw how I organize my collection :P)

Here is my suggestion for a forum restructure:

Section 1 - Words

Community Discussions - for sharing thoughts on possible ways to improve the community.
Looking for... - for people to ask for help in locating certain videos/images/stories/old content (basically the 'wishlist' subforum)
Ideas for... - for people to share ideas or thoughts on freeze stories, scenarios, or ways to hunt for freeze content in world cinema/foreign language television etc. Excludes story ideas for producers since they have a dedicated sub-forum.
Producers' Space - Strictly for promotion by and communication with current producers of PAID Freeze-related content.
Stories and Writings - For people to showcase their stories, essays and other writings.

Section 2 - Shareable media

Movies
TV Shows
Music Videos and Short Films - the line between artistic shorts and music videos can be quite blurred, so it seems to make more sense to let them live in the same sub-forum
Commercials
Other Videos
---
Photoshoots and Photomanips
Illustrations and Artwork
Other Images
---
Interactive web contents and Apps - this subforum can house website links that let you do fancy stuff like 'statue-ify' people in an uploaded photo, or the website that offers 360 degrees panning of models etc. I have left the option open that there might be mobile apps that let you do some fun stuff too.

I don't know how hard it would be for the admins/moderators to move existing threads around, but I think after almost 10 years it's time for a refactor!

Do we really need all these categories? Its not as if this place is overly busy. Just means more clicking around to view all the available topics.

My vote would be to do away with the categories altogether. Just have the single page, the popular threads will always rise to the top or can be 'stickied'.

I agree with Juva. This place isn't a hive of activity so pointlessly splitting categories up even further is a bit counter productive.

Besides, most of the regular content

If you need to change any of it you'll be ok with:

General Discussion
Producers/ Commercial updates [Producers go here] (Inc feedback on customs ect.)

---------------------------------
Reports - Adult content (Japanese time stop NSFW obviously)
Reports - Live action (self explanatory)
Reports - Cartoons (Anime as well, if it's your thing)
Reports - Other (Cam stuff, Youtube ect)
Wishlist/ Help me find
Stories and images

-------------
Off topic and general chat.

I'm not suggesting 50 different categories, just a centralized place for producers to post their content. Sometimes I don't know a new video has been released because it's been buried in some random sub forum. The easier it is to find new content, the more it will sell, and in turn more content will be produced.

I think this forum is active enough to justify a little restructuring, it certainly needs more than one category.

+1 the additional category suggestion. I can't say I'm overly fond of a mass amalgamation of everything. I much prefer to click through additional organised links that are plain sight, rather than play best-guess with a last-post-ordered list of subject headers... XD actually, is it not possible to simply set up a "latest updates" view that could provide quick access to the latest topics? Sort of like an RSS or Twitter feed?

You are aware of the fact you can view new posts right? There's a link just under your dashboard when you log in.

"No mass amalgamation without representation!"

Without turning this into another Fox News-like cat fight and free-for-all; ...I think the website is easy to navigate and fine just the way it is. The original complaint was of producers leaking over into other threads and getting additional advertisement. I would think that if they are genuinely involved in the discussion of whatever thread that may be, whether it's art, music videos, ASFR stories, then so be it. But if a producer purposely says for example "great photo manip; in fact it reminds me of the movie I just released for $19.99 called "Mitzy Gets Frozen by an Alien and Has Her Belly Button Lint Picked" then yes; they should be kindly given a warning and that post deleted. Repeat offenders could just be told, "You're getting free advertisement already, don't abuse it or you'll be asked to leave" and I'm sure they would get the point.

Sometimes I question if a producer is genuinely interested in the subject or if they just want to seem like they're "part of the club" (so to speak) just to sell more product. I think that comes with any fetish-related forum. You also have to consider that it takes a certain mind-set to actually create and film some of this stuff, which would require a kinky-natured personality to begin with. Sometimes producers are also posting just to get a feel of what potential customers are looking for. Can't really fault them for that...

I am now... xD

Those links, in addition to the already existing structure, must surely appease all (or at least the majority) of forum browsing preferences? Surely the addition of a category for products/services would suffice?

Is the voting system working for this forum? Perhaps we should utilize it...

That actually wasn't my point. It just seemed to me that producers advertise their content in haphazard ways; one might use "Offsite News" to announce a new video, another might use "Online Vids," another might use "Movies," etc. I was simply suggesting a category specifically for paid content, not that the entire forum should be overhauled, and if producers want to discuss other topics without advertising their wares, they're welcome to do so in any of the other sub forums.

I was only trying to help!

lol, well Mitzy has some serious hygiene issues if there's entire video dedicated to the removal of her belly button lint.

you could have a section named " commercially produced media- upcoming video releases, questions/requests for producers, etc.."

As a Producer that advertises his new updates and also as a moderator of a massive forum here are my 2 cents.

There should a centralized place for all producers to post their movies and announcements. if its an ad for them or their services it should go in one place
And if they should post in the wrong place the mods should move it to the right place and make a point of telling the producer they posted in the wrong place. if after several warnings the producer can't post where they are asked to then they have no right being here.....but all producers should be allowed to participate in other activities in the appropriate sections as long as its not a pitch for their wares

EXAMPLE OF GOOD PARTICIPATION:
"I really do like the idea of a frozen woman being frozen solid"

EXAMPLE OF BAD PARTICIPATION:
"I really do like the idea of a frozen woman being frozen solid, which is why I only shoot that at my website"

Allow them to participate if they choose to, but make sure posts are not hidden messages to lure people to their sites.

I don't think we need a new place. "Offsite News" seems like a good enough place, its just a matter of telling new producers (and some older ones) where they belong and stick to reenforcing the rules

I always assumed that the 'Offsite News' forum was the place for Producers to post movies but in the last few weeks there's been an increase in movies being advertised in different sections which seems kind of strange.

I'd gladly volunteer as a mod to help put posts in the right place if LH needs any help. :)

I have been knighted! D:

Ok, well I'm guessing that my first job is to put all of the misdirected producers threads into Offsite News since that seems to be the agreed upon place for new productions. If the site blows up it uh... it wasn't me!!!!!!!!!!

lol, this whole thread is probably my fault. I thought "commercials" meant the place I was supposed to advertise and "off-site news" meant stuff that wasn't related to the fetish. Whoops! And Im not even blonde ;)
