Now what is the point. Getting their political message to a handful of people.

I fail to see the point of their message. All they're doing is pissing people off. Just as bad as the KKK. Can't we report these idiots?

I don't think is a big problem, but I hope they have a backup of the database. Maybe they should require people to register before posting or anything on the board; One of the best solutions I've seen for that is to force people to register using a 'non-free' email (no hotmail, no yahoo, no gmail) in order to get in, that makes more difficult to hackers/trolls to sneak into the board

here is my suggestion

I say send an email to owner of the forum stating why he or she wants to join, and then do a clarification check to see if it is legit or a hacker. If it is legit, they are in. If not, they are deleted and is banned from entering EVER.

Hey guys,
I didn't realize this thread was here..
As I posted in the other forum, dmuk runs the forum now, and has a handle on what was hacked. Luckily the data is intact. It's just a matter now of figuring out what was hurt and how to replace it.
I'm sure it'll be back up by next week.
Thanks for your patience!

it doesn't matter whether you clarify or not... all they need is the IP address and the right tools to do it and they are in.
PHPBB is known to have alot of bugs and holes inside. Whereas Joomla is more stable.
