Unauthorized Sequels

There???s a rather interesting thread going on over at the Erotic Mind Control website about unauthorized story sequels. (I believe you have to be a current member to get access to that site). I???m posting this mostly for authors who have written ASFR related stories (whether it be current or in the past) and have had their work stolen. Not sure how I feel about one of my past stories being involved, but I encourage people to be respectful enough to ask an author for their permission first, rather than just ???assuming??? you can take something that isn???t rightfully yours. I???ve never made (or expected) a single dime off of anything I???ve ever written. Just because something is available for free, doesn???t mean you can abuse it. A few of those who have known me for a while will know what I???m talking about. I???d like to believe that I???ve always been fair with people that have enjoyed my work and allowing (sometimes even encouraging) their own interpretations. But whenever I say no - then it means no. Period.

interessting discussion over there, and I take this chance to state for my stories:
anybody may write (and publish) a continuation of (or prequel for) my stories,
if the text and the meta-text (links etc.) show clear, what is my story, and what is add-on and who is responsible for the add-on.

But this is just for my stories - for authors not giving such statement, better ask twice!

Personally, it seems nobody's ever liked my stories enough to rip them off...! But within reason I'd have no objection to somebody rewriting, revising or sequelizing my stories as long as they asked me first.
