I use a shareware trial of CinemaForge 2.0 for converting flv
But I'm using Window$..
Maybe it'll help anyway?

Use Macromedia Flash MX 2004 or newer to import/export to avi/quicktime

Thanks for that!!

Is there any way of getting the sound through though. I can get the video, but no sound even if I select that option.

mmm probably the original FLV was imported to flash from a windows video with non-mac-compatible audio codecs ... Try to search in google for a "mac codec pack" or "macOS X pro sorenson codec"

I have a mac- I get my tools like gthis using versiontracker.com Just search .flv or whatever and you can usually get a few shareware or freeware programs that fit the bill.
