FIMS + POTM appearance

Post by dmuk »

Please don't force the pictures shown in the POTM and thumbnails into a square or standard format. This often makes them look stretched or squashed. If you want to preserve a standard size, go into a photo editor and set the image size to BE that aspect ratio, while filling in the background to letterbox the original image. Cropping would also work, if there's enough space around the subject.

The reason why we're doing this is to keep as easy as possible to mantain the POTM without any HTML knowledge. Though it looks distorted is a standard regular picture, you just have to save it to your hard disk to see how it really looks like. Plus, if you have Firefox you can right click the picture and then click on "Show Picture", the undistorted image will appear.
However I'll talk to Freezetek about it to see if we can 'fix it'...

Whatever you think is best for the site araenae. I leave those decisions in your capable hands. Firefox and Netscape both allow to view the image. IE the worst browser of the 3 is the only one that doesn't,
