Here's a link to the complete Conan the Adventurer animated series. This series features a petrification of prominance to the storyline; his family gets turned to stone within the first episode, and remain that way until episode 63. (Actually, the grandfather gets thawed quite a bit sooner than ol' mom and dad, but that's nitpicking, isn't it?)
I'm still waiting for the first half of episodes, but episodes featuring images of his mother in statue form include eps 58, 60 and 63. Obviously, ep 1 is kewl as well... I remember from originally scoping this show an ep where Conan tried unsuccessfully to revive his mother, but ultimately fails. Once I know which ep number this one is, I'll drop another note.
