Never heard of this movie before, it is and older movie, but I was surprised at the plot. Evil vilian scorned in the past owns a wax muesem, and slowly anyone that pisses him off ends up on display. There is no transformation, and they use live models in the displays (Imagine 'Night life of the Gods' in color with a wax theme).

The site is slow so if it times out loading the page hit "go" or the arrow again. Often I just hit the go arrow over and over until I see the status bar showing 'transferring from ...", if you see it saying "connecting to .." for more then a few seconds it will probably time out.

There used to be some clips from it on the LMC a long long time ago.

It's great finding an older gem, and what is very exciting is how countries like India, Russia, China, Japan have movies that are like this, but just now are films being made truly accessible (thanks to Torrents)

Im very surprised noone ever mentioned the Cutey Honey episode where she and her friends end up in an abandoned outdoor theatre where they discover mannequins with sad looks on their faces....two of them find one lying on the ground and undress her top half. The creature that runs the haunted theatre brings all the mannequins to life and try to capture the group. Of curse since this is Japanese anime, all the mannequins have DD - DDD cups. surprised nobody mentioned about this one.

There is also a b/w Mexican made version of the "House of wax" theme that litterally "out-shines" the rest. There is a particularly good scene where a dark haired cabaret singer that's wearing a show girl costume, gets abducted and taken back to the lab. The villain litterally dumps a vat of hot steaming wax over her while she's strapped to a table. I have no idea how they got this effect to work, but the end result is frighteningly realistic: There is a close up of her gooey, still steaming face (and it's not a mannequin, because the actress squirms about until surrendering to the effects of the wax!)... When the next victim is abducted from her bedroom and taken back to his hide-out, she awakens- just as the villain is pulling back a white sheet to look over the hot cabaret dancer: she has the same "fake" or "overly jubilant" forced looking smile, that I often refer to in my stories. (She has been tured into a wax statue of course).

There are also some scenes where the villain is showing a female prospect his gallery: there are live models used here, but when they show close-ups of their faces, I think they just used still photos of the actresses faces.

I have this on vhs, and it's in a storage garage with the rest of my ASFR clips, so don't expect to see it posted. I do remember buying it back in the early nineties, but I don't remember if it was Sinister Cinema, Movies Unlimited, or even somebody else that had it. I think it was filmed back in the fifties, or early sixties - judging by the film quality. It was also in spanish with no subtitles.

Hello this is my first time posting
In reponse to the mexican movie,the name of it is "museo del horror".
I have a dvd copy,but I do not remember where I bought it.
I made quite a few screenshots but don't know how put more than 3 at time per post. If someone can tell me how, I will.

This is an ultra rare one. Is your copy in English? The one I have is off Telemundo or something and is all in Spanish. (Bought it in the early 90's from an obscure horror movie dealer, thinking that it was a new movie, and the guy recorded it off of television!)

The pouring of the wax part on that caberet singer is the most horrifying and the most realistically done scene in the genre. (I still haven't figured out how they made it smolder over her pretty face). I'd give that scene a 10 + ...Yet another example of how a freeze scene can be totally erotic without any nudity involved!

I agree it is a very good scene,I also wonder how they made it look like she was coverd in wax.

I feel the same way about "Orgy of the Dead", the only movie to show a girl dunked in a vat of liquid gold, as cheezy as it is.

Another Ye Olden gem to check it is 'Behind Closed Doors", a creepy guy has 3 nude swingin 60s chicks preserved in his basement. Pretty good posing if you haven't seen it.

YES!...Turned me on too! Her head tilts to the side and her shoulders relax, as the steam clears! I used to sit there in front of the TV and constantly work the pause/rewind button on that part. Simply an AWESOME scene! (Of course I also used to do that with California Girls)...

I have "Behind Closed Doors" too! Back in the pre-Internet and "Block Buster Video"days, I used to rent that on a near monthly basis, along with "Playgirl Killer"... It was some obscure "Mom-n-Pop" video store, and I clearly remember the lady saying, "You could have bought those tapes a dozen times over by now!" . . . I was totally crushed when I stopped there one time, and there was a "For sale or Lease" sign in the window and the business had closed. I ended up finding them elsewhere eventually. I always thought the woman on the far right in that tableaux sort of looked like a topless Mrs. Cunningham from Happy Days! I also love the part where the camera pans over the seated Italian-looking girl in the back, then fades off... "Aren't they handsome? I have recreated them just as they were in life, and posed them in ways that provoke many a pleasent memories for me..."

Must say, if I saw an English version of Museo del Horror I would probably pick it up. It has all of the elements, it's just black and white and ancient!

I noticed that the sculptor changes all the girls hair colour from blonde to black,and vice versa.
