The Black Cat (1934)

In the old 1934 film The Black Cat (not to be confused with the 1941 comedy), about 27 minutes in there are a long string of shots of beautiful women encased in glass, hovering upright and motionless.

I remember this one fondly. The cinematography is amazing, besides the ASFR aspect.

I do enjoy that unaware hovering and motioness aspect as well, especially if there is something else going on in the foreground:
The effect was also used in last year's Pretty Vacant comic (panel one):
