During the second episode, entitled Trust Me, Jafar freezes a room full of people to converse alone with the Queen of Hearts. Then in a later scene when she tries to storm away, he freezes her.

Can you elaborate on what kind of freeze? A live one or VFX?

For the Queen of Hearts, it's a live freeze as you see her eyes darting back and forth.

Well the context of the scene is he's talking to her and didn't want her to leave, and eyes darting is a common way to establish a frozen person can still listen.
