Also in episode 1 they play a red light green light game that has all the players intermittently freeze when the animatronic girl looks at them or they get shot.
This might become a trending challenge. Some people are already starting to replicate it:

I don't have the footage handy, but the musical cue associated with "SQUID GAME" that has that eerie "HEE HEE HEE" cadence is extremely reminiscent of an episode of the B&W Japanese fantasy TV show AKUMA-KUN that was a favorite here, where an alien being possesses and animates mannequins and turns unsuspecting victims into them as well, and makes a similar strident "hee hee hee" noise when on the offensive.
