YouTube recently announced they will be using AI to upscale low quality videos up to 1080p and in the future maybe even 4k. It seems like the feature will only be available on TVs at the start but will come to mobile and web eventually too.

This will hopefully be really good when viewing those old classic freeze clips, flash mobs freezes and the huge amount of 240p mannequin challenge videos.

No set date yet but if I see anything I’ll reply back here.
