Just a little taste of Mr. Freeze before his debut on the 28th.

Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
I have yet to watch an entire episode of this show. But it looks like I'll be tuned in on the 29th. Females floating in stasis tanks have always been my greatest weakness: (brief glimpse @ 00:20 mark)

Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
I've been working the pause button back and forth like in the ole VHS days, but it's too brief! At least there's two babes. Description for the Mr. Freeze character I came across:
The take on Victor Fries is, he's a cryogenics engineer. He works for a subsidiary of Wayne Industries. His wife, who is the love of his life, is ill. In order to save her life, he is looking to freeze her body, so that she can stay frozen until a cure can be found, and then he can reanimate her. He is working towards that and, as it happens, he is experimenting on actual people.
One thing that's not a secret about the character is his gun. What is his weapon capable of?
It is used, initially, to freeze an entire human body in a relatively short period of time. As the story moves along, we start to attract the attention of the law, and Victor modifies the gun to be a little more weaponized, if I could put it that way.
I got to see the first of my two episodes. Gotham brought me and some of the other villains down to Atlanta. We got to see the first episode on a big screen. I thought what our effects team did to make the actual freezing happen -- I was extremely impressed by it.
...Fingers & toes crossed.

Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
I missed the women in the fluid tubes. Was it in the episode?
Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
I can see a scenario where Freeze captures Dr. Thompkins(hopefully by way of freeze gun), and Gordon has to go rescue her. Or heck maybe Selina will get it.
Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
I agree, Jay. (Minor spolier below so scroll down only if you have seen the show...)Jay wrote:I can see a scenario where Freeze captures Dr. Thompkins(hopefully by way of freeze gun), and Gordon has to go rescue her. Or heck maybe Selina will get it.
Now that we know someone can be revived after being frozen I think Lee is a prime target. Fingers crossed!

Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
the show kinda sucks so i stopped watching after season 1. i guess i better catch up.
Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
I thought it got a little better after they off'd Fish Mooney. lol
Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
She was the worst kind of recurring villain: one who tried to kill the protagonists in the first episode, and they know it, but despite his poor judgment they keep her around a whole season when she really should have been offed after a few episodes at most. Basically zero subtlety or intrigue to the character.Jay wrote:I thought it got a little better after they off'd Fish Mooney. lol

Well that was a bust.

Other than the quick blip at the very end tonight, I never did see the tubes shown in the promo.

Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
After doing some considerable digging around, I've found that the stasis tube scene at Indian Hills that was shown in the trailer was actually from an episode that aired back in November. It was believed that the female seen in the second tank with red streaked hair is Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith's character) which apparently sparked rumors of her return to the series. (Even if that's the case, the woman in the tank is a different actress). Anyway, it's very short; we get a shot of a nice ass in a passing window @ 00:20 (which is the backside of thebrunette against the far wall) and then the short tube scene from before. It is what it is...

Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
There was another freeze in Monday's episode, where Fries freezes, then shatters Karen Jennings. It's a pretty quick freeze, the camera doesn't linger on her for too long before he kills her, but figured it might as well be included here.

Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
Do my tortured eyes deceive me, or is Mr. Freeze going to give his role a reprise in the season finale of "Gotham" next Monday? Will he freeze any major babes? (I know, I know...probably not.)
Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
I don't know, I could see him being used to neutralize Firefly, plus, I don't think they ever killed off Officer Mac from Strike Force... we're not seeing Selina or Lee frozen, I know that much.kelvinfcelsius wrote:Do my tortured eyes deceive me, or is Mr. Freeze going to give his role a reprise in the season finale of "Gotham" next Monday? Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
The important thing to remember is that Freeze perfected his formula and it is now nonlethal unless he shatters the person. So the writers can have him freeze virtually any character and hold them hostage without any issues now.
Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
Yeah, but either way, from a plot standpoint, it makes no sense for Selina to end up frozen, and Lee hasn't been on since episode 14 or 15, I don't think. And it's unlikely she'll do much even if she appears in the finale, with the actress being pregnant during filming. I know, I'm being practical, sorry...sjacomida wrote:The important thing to remember is that Freeze perfected his formula and it is now nonlethal unless he shatters the person. Freeze is a weapon, if he's going to use the formula on someone at this stage, they're not surviving it. But I don't think this will be the last we see of him, either. So there will likely be more opportunities next season to see him in action.
Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
I dunno, the finale is being hyped as fire vs ice, so it's going to pit Freeze against Selina and Firefly. There's a non-zero chance she could be collateral and it leads to Firefly's redemption and sacrifice to save her or something.danniquin wrote:Yeah, but either way, from a plot standpoint, it makes no sense for Selina to end up frozen, and Lee hasn't been on since episode 14 or 15, I don't think. Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
Nada, not for lack of trying though.
Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
Yeah it was a huge let down.
They even totally forgot to show what happened to Freeze and Firefly after they stopped fighting. Anyone else suddenly hoping for some fire and ice romance?
Well, at least we know he didn't get arrested. And the writers have warned that Season 3 will show us a very different Gotham from Season 1 and 2, what with supervillains emerging, so we can look forward to more Freeze, I think.

Re: Gotham: Rise of Villeins
The new season begins Monday, and is set to heavily feature The Mad Hatter. In this version, he's a master hypnotist, so maybe we'll have a possibility of some more freeze content.
