Spy Kids 4?

Post by GuyTalon »

Okay, so who's going to take one for the team and go see if there's any good freeze material in Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World?

I'm looking into it. I know people who go see movies on opening night to do reviews so I'm going to see what they say.

I finally found a Russian screener

A dream come true, Jessica Alba & Alexa Vega are frozen two time, the first freeze is the best, the second is very too brief.

Likewise Jay. Alexa Vega getting frozen was a nice plus too, I figured her role would be more of a cameo.

I must say I was disappointed by these clips. Maybe they look better in 3D, but from what I could tell Jessica Alba was never holding a pose, she was always digitally frozen. Same with the extras. Only Alexa Vega seems to be holding still. Any thoughts?

I disagree Guy. They were definitely FX frozen in a few shots but it looks like in at least a few cases she was holding a pose. The old half-and-half trick, using FX where they can but using live when its necessary. You see the same thing in some other scenes including some not included in Puducu's clip (probably because it involved the massively underage kids, so I don't blame him).

I have yet to see the film, and I am normally a live freeze purist, but for a world-class beauty like Jessica Alba I am more than willing to make an exception.

I feel like a kid but the best part is when the kid sticks the girls finger up her nose. :p

I have now seen the film -in 3-D no less-and,for what it is worth,I believe that the two Jessica Alba/Alexa Vega freeze scenes are almost exclusively FX freezes. The only time they might have been in a live freeze is just before they are each unfrozen in the first freeze scene.I have to say, though, that they both looked so good I did not mind at all.

I disagree. I had a look at a non 3-D version, and I'm convinced the 3D is causing this mistake. The initial freeze of the three, the second freeze, and the bit where the guy's walking back and forth, FX I'm pretty sure. The part where he moves again and when he's interacting with them? Real.

Got a higher quality version of the scene here...

For Alexa and Jessica that pretty much looks live, of course the lack of 3D helps a lot.
